Maria Constantinescu

Maria is a young professional, working as a full-time Sustainability Officer at Bridgestone EMIA, enhancing the company’s sustainability agenda and action plan, in alignment with the 17 UN SDGs, the Paris Agreement and the EU Green Deal. Originally, Maria has specialized in Law, with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Bucharest in Romania, and an exchange semester in European Law at University of West Bohemia, in Czech Republic. She then realized her passion for the sustainable development and public international law, as she represented the faculty for two years in a row at Jessup International Competition in Washington D.C., and she decided to pursue an Advanced Master’s Degree in Global Governance at Catolica Global School of Law in Lisbon. She then furthered her studies in International Law at KU Leuven, in Belgium, where she is currently residing, and she pursued a Master’s in Transnational Law with a specialized thesis in climate action and sustainable development.

Since October 2020, Maria is the Partnerships Officer for Young European Leadership, a youth-led NGO working for youth empowerment, and she is the Romanian delegate at Pre-COP26 in Milano, and a delegate for COP26 in Glasgow, covering the climate change agenda within her daily work. She is also a co-founder for SDG 18 Voices magazine, through which not only that she hopes to give voice to the young people passionate about climate action, but to fulfill as well her mission to serve as a leader in empowering young people who lack resources and equal educational opportunities in order to contribute to a global community of inspiring, engaged, excited, ambitious changemakers.
