SDG 18: Youth Equity Overview

We need to invest in people who are passionate about championing justice, supporting those who are creating, pushing boundaries, and solving real-world problems with this powerful manifesto. These people are the youth of the world, and we must lift them to the highest levels to recognize the role they play.

Our Why

Youth understand how to use tools more resourcefully than anybody else and have the drive to achieve the Global Goals. They are also the group being subjugated to corruption and oftentimes are defenseless. Therefore, not only are they qualified to have their own Goal, but they are also the most motivated to see this global vision succeed because their lives and livelihoods depend on it.

Our Case

With over 1.8 billion youth today and over 200 million not in education, employment or training, unlocking such potential is not only beneficial but critical to the sustainability of all life.

NEET Rate

Every 1 in 5 youth are not in education, employment, or training (NEET), and to meet global youth needs, 600 million jobs would have to be created over the next 15 years.

Living in Poverty

140 million youth between 15-24 years old are living on less than $1.40 USD a day.

Living in Fragile States

Around 87% of youth live in developing countries, and 30% in fragile and conflict-affected countries.

No Identity

There are roughly 237 million children without identifying information across the world and more than 1 million U.S. children who are victims of identity theft each year.

Lack of Rule Making

1.9% of national legislatures are below age 30 and 14.2% are below age 40.
