Rachel Svetanoff

Rachel is a young leader dedicated to championing innovation in social impact causes. Over the past 10 years, Rachel has helped work on all 17 U.N. Sustainable Development Goals where she has contributed to over 100 projects with 86 organizations across 34 countries. She is a UNITE 2030 Youth Delegate, a Liechtenstein Institute for Strategic Development LEAP fellow, a One Better World Collective Liaison, and co-founder of the nascent organization, The Global 2050 Initiative. For her service, Rachel is the recipient of the 2021 Purdue University Student Life Young Alumni Award, Presidential Volunteer Service Award of AmeriCorps, the 2020 J.B. Dondolo, Inc. Water Changemaker Award, and an InnoCentive Challenge winner.

Rachel’s latest role was the Programs Lead for Johnson & Johnson’s CaringCrowd®, a crowdfunding platform for projects designed to improve health outcomes across the world. Rachel has directly ensured the success of over 50 fundraising campaigns, totaling $300,000 dollars for projects spanning across 15 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. She has also led CaringCrowd’s efforts to bring awareness to its stakeholder community by creating cross-sector partnerships with public agencies, private industry, academia, and nonprofits.

Rachel also oversees research and strategy as a member of the Board of Directors of JB Dondolo, Inc., an organization that removes barriers of access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene in underserved communities to reduce poverty and promote gender equity. Rachel oversaw the development of the organization’s 3-year strategic plan, inaugural annual report, United Nations Global Water Partnership, and contributed to the development of the Music for Water competition, which benefited the Navajo Nation during COVID-19. In addition to her Board membership with JB Dondolo, Inc., Rachel sits on the Board of Directors for Consortium for Health Action and Student Pugwash USA.
In August 2020, Rachel became the Director of Business Development for the Evolvolution Initiative, which uses creative arts with outcome-driven programs to foster educational and cultural exchange. It is through her connection to Evolvolution Initiative and The Trebuchet that she came to meet and join InternetBar.org Institute as a strategic advisor. Rachel is a contract consultant specializing in fundraising, strategy, marketing, communications, and governance. Her clients range from nascent and established nonprofits to start-up businesses.

Native of Indiana, Rachel earned her MBA from Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management, Master of Science in Global Health from the University of Notre Dame, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Purdue University where she was honored as a top ten leader of her graduating class and a recipient of 9 leadership awards.
