Vincent I. Polley Bio
Vincent I. Polley is a partner at Dickinson Wright PLLC, where he co-chairs the Information Technology & Security Law practice group. Before joining Dickinson Wright, he was the co-founder of KnowConnect, Inc., providing knowledge management services to corporate and government legal departments, and (earlier) the Deputy General Counsel of Schlumberger Limited, a $18 billion multinational oilfield and IT services company with 55,000 employees in over 100 countries.
Polley is co-chair of the ABA Commission on Second Season of Service, and a member of the Council of the ABA’s Section of Business Law. Also a member of the ABA’s Standing Committee on Law and National Security, he is the immediate past chair of the ABA’s Cyberspace Law Committee, serves on the editorial board of Business Law Today, is the co-author of the book “Employee Use of the Internet and E-Mail” (ABA Press, 2002), and publishes MIRLN, a monthly e-newsletter on IT related legal news now in its ninth year (archived at www.vip-law.com).
Mr. Polley was a founding member of the Internet Law & Policy Forum (www.ilpf.org), and is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. A graduate of Harvard College (mathematics), Mr. Polley received his law degree from the University of Michigan.
