TUFTS UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE FOR GLOBAL LEADERSHIPSummaryInternetBar started working with the IGL in November, 2007, in an effort to create a social entrepreneurial poverty alleviation program. The initiative had a strong focus on alleviation of poverty in underdeveloped countries through legal empowerment of the poor strategies and the promotion of microfinancing initiatives. The IGL gave IBO a venue at its 2008 EPIIC Symposium on Global Poverty and Inequality to run a 3 day professional workshop to develop a plan to promote e-commerce initiatives with microfinance lenders. The ProgramThe professional workshop agenda can be found here. An OpportunityAs a result of the professional workshop program, IBO has the opportunity to develop a plan to engage micro-finance lenders in e-commerce projects in Afghanistan, Belfast, Kenya, Nigeria and the West Bank. Leadership opportunities for students to work in field training, policy development and global mediation efforts are available. For further information, contact jeffaresty@internetbar.org. |
