PEACETONESWhat is PeaceTones?
Why Now?Right now people all over the globe have access to the internet through their cell phones, in some cases people who don't even have access to running water. Digital media can provide income to individuals in remote areas which may lack other monetary opportunities. By helping us initiate this pilot project you could be helping to keep a family above the poverty line, helping an individual fund their education, or allowing a brilliant entrepreneur to get some start-up capital. This project not only helps promote economic equality but it also allows InternetBar to deal with some real global internet-law issues such as protecting intellectual property rights. These are the issues shaping our future! Get Involved!
If you can identify musicians in your communities who may be interested in participating in the project please contact us at gillneer@internetbar.org with the subject line "PeaceTones". You can also promote PeaceTones by urging your friends and colleagues to buy "World Music with a Social Conscience." And we are always looking for help funding, and finding funding, for musicians who have talent but no means to record or upload their music. We also welcome any general suggestions relating to this pilot, and we are always looking for additional affiliates and partners to aid in the completion of our project goals. Peacetones.orgIf you want to help, contact: Jeff Aresty, President of IBO (JeffAresty@internetbar.org) or Gillian Neer, Vice President of IBO (gillneer@internetbar.org). |

PeaceTones is a pilot project geared towards exploring issues relating to
international e-commerce through the distribution of digital media. This
initiative combines the efforts of InternetBar (IBO), music distributers, Openworld,
ODRWorld and others to lower digital and economic barriers to entry for
e-commerce markets. PeaceTones will help artists in frontier (developing)
economies to provide digital copies of their work to buyers around the world via
an online platform managed through Subway Records.
