MicrocommercePC Magazine defines Micro-Commerce as "low-value transactions in electronic markets". This means small amounts of money in exchange for goods which can be delivered online such as a song, a translation, a digital article, a website design, and so much more. Work that can be done online from remote locations is known as "telework" in the micro-commerce setting. Micro-commerce is a model that can be used to initiate revenue streams from even the most remote and resource-scarce areas of the world. What InternetBar is saying is that a micro-commerce model, if correctly applied, can help to alleviate global poverty issues. InternetBar is working with Openworld to implement a micro-commerce model which also provides a supporting infrastructure for e-commerce. This infrastructure includes access to legal services online, and enforcement mechanisms for commerce agreements made and/or delivered online. More information on this project can be found in the document below. Funding IBO and OpenWorld Thank you, |
