Become a Contest Sponsor

Internet Bar Contest

The Internet Bar Contest provides a tremendous opportunity to engage with young lawyers and law students from around the world on an ongoing basis. Our first contest generated hundreds of enthusiastic young people working together and individually to address specific issues involved in bringing e-commerce to the developing world. Their achievements will provide the basis for an ongoing, scalable business plan for developing micro-commerce businesses in places like Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.

During Cyberweek we will be inviting students from all 170 U.S. law schools, many international law schools and thousands of young lawyers to participate, compete for cash prizes, have the opportunity to be published and to gain experience in online dispute resolution in a range of issues related to the environment. We expect thousands of people to compete and contribute in 10 key areas, all of which will provide prizes.

If your organization wants to reach law students and young lawyers there is not a better sponsorship opportunity anywhere that the Internet Bar Contest. Your organization will be able to:

  • Directly engage with contest participants over a 3-4 month period
  • Promote products or services that can enhance the professional lives of young lawyers and law students
  • Participate in projects that will be highly publicized and provide tremendous good-will for your organization
  • Offer product or service demonstrations to contestants
  • Offer your products or services for use by contestants during the contest
  • Position your organization as a trusted provider of products and services to a key group of people that are hard to impress, easily distracted, but present valuable long-term relationships for your business

There are three types of Contest Sponsorships available:

1. Official Sponsor

Internet Bar will designate five Official Sponsors in discrete niches for $25,000 each. Official Sponsors will automatically be included as Prize and Product/Service Sponsors but in addition to the benefits accruing from those levels of sponsorship, Official Sponsors will directly engage with the contest process, including inclusion of their products and services or mission and values into the contest process. Official Sponsors will be prominently promoted in all contest-related marketing, promotion, advertisement and P.R. materials and campaigns. Official Sponsors will be able to directly engage with Internet Bar's greater membership, designate an official or representative to sit on the Executive Board of Internet Bar and receive a discount of 25% off the rates for all other forms of sponsorship for all Internet Bar, Internet Bar Institute, Internet Law Review and Cyberweek activities.

2.Prize Sponsor

Prize Sponsors will pay $1,000 in the form of a cash scholarship in the name of your organization. We will provide up to $5,000 in total cash awards for each of the 10 distinct projects/topics in the contest. You may obtain an exclusive Prize Sponsorship for one of the 10 categories for $5,000, or you may be the Official Prize Sponsor for the entire contest for $50,000. Internet Bar will provide a wide range of special benefits for exclusive and official sponsor levels that we can discuss with you and tailor to your needs.

3. Product/Service Sponsor

Product/Service sponsors will provide access and use of a product or service to contestants and will be able to directly engage people in the uses and benefits of a product or service. The cost of this sponsorship is $500 and there are no limits to the number of these sponsorships. However, we will provide an exclusive Product/Service sponsorship opportunity for each distinct product/service niche for $2,500.
