E-Lawyering Certification
The E-Lawyering certification will be available from April 2008. The certification is designed in conjunction with malpractice insurers and is designed to train lawyers and law firms about how to navigate the Digital Age, Internet Practice and the global marketplace under conditions in which the profession itself has not yet created bright line tests to determine what lawyers and firms can and cannot do.
Firms or lawyers that complete the Certification Program will receive discounts on malpractice insurance (specifics to be determined by insurers) as well as 15 hours of MCLE credit, including 5 hours of ethics credit.
The E-lawyering Certification Program consists of online learning courses all designed to provide lawyers and other professionals with practical knowledge and skills in using a wide variety of technology tools to build and manage a practice or business. Courses cover topics such as podcasts, webcasts and blogs as well as law office automation, and emerging strategies for marketing a law practice in the Digital Age and the global marketplace. Ethics podcasts are included with each course.
